What is this thing called Creative Loafing?

Creative Loafing is a multimedia company owned by Tampa, Fla., based Creative Loafing Inc. Our first issue was printed in 1972. Today, the Atlanta paper’s print version (circulation: 112,000) is the second-most broadly distributed newspaper in Georgia. We're an alternative newsweekly nationally known for our coverage of news, culture, contemporary music and the arts.

Creative Loafing Inc. also publishes Creative Loafing Charlotte, N.C., Sarasota, Fla., and Tampa, Fla. In 2007, Creative Loafing Inc. acquired two of the most outstanding alt-weeklies in the country, the Chicago Reader and the Washington (D.C.) City Paper, nearly doubling the size of the company.

We weren't kidding about them awards ...
