Pomme Frites

Alex, you are a schill for this restaurant. Everyone like something different. So what are you getting paid per word? Go get a passport and go to Paris or Antwerp if you could read a map. Have Keller Picker and that pageant girl help you find it. And, yes McDonald's has better fries and knows our to run a restaurant - billions and billions served! Maybe Ecco learn something.

Just what Atlanta needs

Thank god there's a restaurant in Atlanta that isn't catering to the masses. Ecco isn't making the fanciest or trendiest food in the world, but it is turning on Atlanta to simple, fun, slightly different style of eating. Yeah, if you need to have your fries cooked like McDonald's, go somewhere else. I love the act that no one else in the city is doing what they do, and no one can touch their value.

A fabulous experience

I have to say I've enjoyed Ecco every time I've been. I like that the menu changes often enough to keep things interesting. The prices are good, and you can try lots of small plates and have a great meal. Last time I had the grilled squid (very tender), the fried goat cheese (awesome!), and the stuffed peppers with mushrooms. I also loved the homemade pasta with roasted rabbit. The wine list is killer, too. Lots of great choices without having to spend $100 for a bottle. I've never had anything less than GREAT food at Ecco, and the service is good too, but sometimes the servers seems to be too busy.

Overall, Ecco is still one of my top favorites in Atlanta, and I will keep going back!

Smokin' but not so hot

Lovely place--i really like the look and feel--and not bad overall, but two things just ruined it for us. Overbearing waiter. Interrupted and over-talked us. Very arrogant and treated us like gastretards. But that's just one waiter, so no biggie. What did bother me was that EVERYTHING had smoky flavor. The whole meal was suffused with it, so it all tasted pretty much the same. I'll give it another try, but first time was not a charm.

City's Worst - Don't go there

Ecco is overrated. It seems just a place to be seen and for drinks. The host manager was rude to our guest. We had a reservation but we still waited an hour for our table. When we closed our tab for the bar, the waitress was nowhere to be found. The bar took ten minutes to close the tab. Finally, we got seated. I order olives that were tasteless. The watercress salad was not bad though a little on the bitter side but tasteful. The asparagus was hard, gritty, and undercook. The tomatoes were not bad. My entree was steak and pomme frites. The steak was ok and had somewhat smoky favor. Our guest enjoyed the grape leave wrap trout and pasta was fair. But the worst thing was the burnt frites that were dark brown with a few black fries. We complained about the frites but the waitness stated that we were supposed to be burnt. The mayonaisse was no better than Miracle Whip. Ten minutes later the waitness slammed down a new dish of soggy frites with ketchup. We didn't order dessert or coffee. Even the valet forgot to open the door to the car for my wife. Truly a wasted evening. Don't go there.
