Film: Silver Scream Spook Show

The monthly SILVER SCREAM SPOOK SHOW seems to get spookier (and more popular) with each presentation. The partners in crime – Professor Morte and Retch, to name two – have perfected the art of campy and hilariously off-kilter vignettes in advance of horror/sci-fi movies. This month's offering on Sat., JULY 26, is the 1955 Ray Harryhausen thriller It Came from Beneath the Sea, in which an atomic submarine does battle with a ginormous octopus. Free-$10. Kid's show, 1 p.m.; adult show, 10 p.m. Plaza Theatre, 1049 Ponce de Leon Ave. 404-873-1939. www.plazaatlanta.com.
