Those of a certain age may get misty-eyed when we recall the phrase "Pigs in Spaaaaaace!" but most of us never saw the thinking that went on behind Jim Henson's creative empire. The Atlanta History Center aims to set that deficiency right with JIM HENSON'S FANTASTIC WORLD, continuing Mon., OCT. 27. The exhibition – sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution – explores Henson's unique process of "visual thinking." Diagrams, doodles and sketches document the progress from random imaginative sparks to the full spectacle of Animal banging his head on a snare drum and screaming incoherently. Experimental films, The Dark Crystal paraphernalia and "Sesame Street" imagery round out the visual feast. Through Jan. 18. Free-$15. Mon.-Sat., 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Sun., noon-5:30 p.m. 130 W. Paces Ferry Road. 404-814-4000. www.atlantahistorycenter.com.
