TODAY’S CREATIVE LOVING PROFILE
At the ripe old age of 64, former Kinks vocalist and guitarist RAY DAVIES has been around the block quite a few times. These days his shows don't harness the same sharp rock 'n' roll kick they once did, but like a fine wine, his abilities as a songwriter have improved with age. With his latest offering, Working Man's Café, Davies reflects on a world spinning dangerously out of control with wry wit and ornery cynicism. Brooklyn-by-way-of-Madison, Wis., foursome Locksley open. $32.50-$35. 8 p.m. Variety Playhouse, 1099 Euclid Ave. 404-524-7354. www.variety-playhouse.com.
