Atlanta's favorite wayward daughter ADRON (née Adrienne McCann) returns from the mean streets of Brooklyn to play her first of a handful of shows in the area. Adron's chirping serenades and soft strumming over nylon strings pull from a mixed bag of Brazilian and flamenco sounds and fairy-tale imagery that's both whimsical and mesmerizing. For her show Thurs., JAN. 29, Athens songstress Madeline Adams plays a sneak preview of songs from her forthcoming Orange Twin Records release, White Flag. Madeline's folkie material is stark, cathartic and maybe even a bit brittle by comparison, but captivating nonetheless. Local acts Trappers Cabin and Zano also perform. Free. 9 p.m. Star Bar, 437 Moreland Ave. 404-681-9018. www.starbaratlanta.com.
