GUY SMILEY BLUES EXCHANGE -- The Guy Smiley Blues Exchange is to blues as Phish is to jazz: they listen to it, but that doesn't mean they perform it. Come to think of it, the Blues Exchange sounds a lot more like jazz than blues, and even more like what Phish fans would love to hear. The Exchange, who center their tunes on a horn section, call their music "post-modern funk." Add a pan of moist special-recipe brownies to this modal madness and you're in for a great night of fulfilling musical munchies. Get this: their representation is called Kind Management. TIMO MAAS -- Touring to celebrate the release of his 2-CD mix of original productions and remixes, Music for the Maases, Germany's Timo Maas visits to deliver his "wet percussive funk" -- a deep blend of tech-house, trance and breakbeat. Maas has recently completed remixes of artists ranging from Madonna to Placebo, so you may hear some familiar voices and run into some familiar faces at what is bound to be remembered as one of Atlanta's better nights of dance music in 2000.
