Like the character Wooderson in the movie Dazed and Confused, Wax 'N Facts gets older, but the kids benefitting from its musical wisdom stay the same age. The record store's been chilling in Little Five Points since June 1976 with its owners Harry DeMille and Danny Beard (also founder of original B-52's/Pylon/Love Tractor label DB Records). Looking back, Wax 'N Facts waxed nostalgic through spokes-employees Sean Bourne, Victoria Nicholson and Paul Kustera.

At 30, Wax 'N Facts is conscientious about not going bald -- records not going bald, that is. Quality used vinyl is the majority of stock and trade.

The reason Wax 'N Facts never works on Sundays? Not religion. Well, religion of a sort. Big sports fan. Go Bulldogs and Braves!

If old white British dudes were on MySpace, then Wax 'N Facts might have the Beatles, Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Jethro Tull in the Top Eight. But after that would be Jimi Hendrix, Sam Cooke, Burt Reynolds, the Beach Boys, the Ramones, the Cramps, Miles Davis, Minor Threat, Operation Ivy, Wumpscut, Wesley Willis, Randy Johnson, Willie Stargell and you!

Wax 'N Facts requests you do not bring up the movie High Fidelity. Not all record-store clerks are surly like the movie, and will quickly bark why!

Wax 'N Facts is not a bartender. You don't need to share how a girl broke up with you and took your favorite records. Just buy them again.

Wax 'N Facts celebrates 30 years at the Variety Playhouse on Sun., June 4. The Swimming Pool Q's, the Selmanaires, Anna Kramer, the Good Friday Experiment, the Carbonas, Tiger Tiger and the Return of Vietnam are scheduled to perform.

i agree, its got an ok vibe but definitely not shy to ask for premium prices on the wax and cds.....better to look at other places first before reaching for the wallet

I have recently begun collecting vintage vinyl like Zeppelin, Beatles, Dylan, Paul Simon and many others. I love the selection at Wax but the prices are so outrageous!!!!!! I tried buying a beatles record for 35 dollars, then went to Chattanooga and bought the same record in the same condition w/ a plastic cover, for 5 bucks! Wax has a great selection but cut us cheapos a break.
