RE: Ruined lives

Really, Kwesi? Butler and King were responsible for ruined lives not only in Georgia - which, yes, they were - but all of American, Canada and the Carribean?! Just how, precisely, did Roswell King and Pierce Butler - whose British wife, Fanny Kemble, did much to advance the abolitionist cause and draw attention to the inhumanity of slavery - ruin lives in California, British Columbia, etc?

It seems your use of "fair and balanced" is on par with Fox News's use of the same phrase.

The author of the piece does not gloss over the use of slaves in the building and maintaining the mill. But the article is about displaced women - women whose lives were also ruined. Let's give some time and thought to them, too, shall we? Or are poor white women not worthy of history's notice in your opinion?
