Christmas comes to Tuna, Texas, the third-smallest town in the state, in A TUNA CHRISTMAS at Theatre in the Square's Alley Stage. Christmas marks the second of four mega-popular Tuna comedies (written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard), in which two men play characters of multiple ages and genders. For this production, Theatre in the Square taps Steve Hudson and Bill Murphey to play more than 20 roles in various states of drag and drawl. Murphey did a

An annual tradition since 1932, the RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR high-kicks it back to Atlanta after a four-year hiatus. The Radio City Rockettes have solidified themselves as a rich part of our nation's history, tapping their way through memorable USO Tours during WWII and Super Bowl halftime, as well as performing in the annual Macy's Day Parade. Known for their perfectly unified eye-high kicks and fresh-faced appeal, the Rockettes paint an old-school picture of the simpler times of Christmas past.

After a brief hiatus, Fringe Factory returns with a new location and a bigger, badder psychedelic dance party, dubbed the ELECTRIC CIRCUS. The party is a mixed-media gala spread throughout multiple rooms with live music, DJs, cabaret performances, art and vintage films. Quintron and Miss Pussycat headline a show of heavy, high-energy, organ-driven swamp punk and puppetry while local psych rockers the Electric Cycles open. Hosts Vikki V and Suzy Q, along with several other performers, including Spencer Garn's Psychedelic

The MOUNTAIN GOATS' principle songwriter, singer/guitarist John Darnielle, has come a long way since his days of cranking out homemade and willfully obscure lo-fi cassettes. The ramshackle and Muppet-voiced troubadour has leveled off a bit and upped the indie/folkie ante with his 4AD releases of recent years. Darnielle and Co. play songs from their latest biblically themed offering, The Life of the World to Come. Georgia native turned New Yorker Larkin Grimm plays a rare local show of her spectral,

What do small Russian dolls, rodent kings and urban youth have in common? Surprisingly little until now. URBAN NUTCRACKER unites the Tchaikovsky-Dumas original with a modern interpretation from street-savvy characters. Transposing the quaint innocence of the 1940s – think It's a Wonderful Life – with the building racial tensions in the pre-Civil Rights Movement South, the Urban Nutcracker is set in Atlanta's own Sweet Auburn district. The production, choreographed by Waverly T. Lucas and performed by the Ballethnic Dance Company,

Sometimes a product is greater than the sum of its parts, but usually not when it comes to the almighty super group. Conor Oberst, Jim James, M. Ward and Mike Mogis beat the odds with MONSTERS OF FOLK, a gathering of super egos culminating in deeply personal and spiritual ruminations that transcend their respective individual voices. When these urbane troubadours perform, they'll stomp and reel their way through two and a half hours of songs from the Monsters of Folk

Atlanta Opera plucks a ditty from the pages of mythology in ORFEO & EURIDICE, the Christoph Willibald Gluck-penned tale of ill-fated lovers. In a nod to the classic damsel-in-distress storyline, Orfeo makes the long and rather unpleasant trek to the Underworld to rescue his wife Euridice after her untimely death. The determined hero sweet-talks Hades' guardians, the vindictive Furies, to – spoiler alert – ultimately thwart fate and regain his lady love. The premiere features countertenor David Daniels as Orfeo
