It will be a summer of superheroes, TV shoes, remakes and sequels (sometimes, seemingly, all at once) when it comes to movies. And, for Atlanta, don’t forget the panda!

This summer offers a lot of eye candy; as usual Hollywood couldn’t wait for Memorial Day Weekend (but then, neither could we) and rolled out such visual fluff as Iron Man and Speed Racer. But there’s plenty more to choose from when it comes to summer movies. Film Critic Curt Holman picks through the trends, the highlights and the ones to watch with Senior Arts Writer David Lee Simmons.
