TODAY’S CREATIVE LOVING PROFILE
Jazz-era composer and lyricist Cole Porter made a rousing comeback in 1949 with KISS ME, KATE, a musical about a touring production of The Taming of the Shrew with plenty of backstage parallels to the Shakespeare comedy. Lawrenceville’s Aurora Theatre opens its 2009-2010 season with the classic feel-good show, with J.C. Long and Natasha Drena as the bickering leads, as well as Anthony Rodriguez, Bethany Irby and Glenn Rainey, and director Alan Kilpatrick. Tunes include “Too Darn Hot,” “Wunderbar” and “Another Op’nin’, Another Show.” Through Sept. 6. $16-$30. Thurs.-Fri., 8 p.m.; Sat., 2:30 and 8 p.m.; Sun., 2:30 p.m. 128 E. I have tickets to this play tonight and can't go. Check craigslist tickets section for my ad...just $25 for a pair that would cost $27 each, if it wasn't sold out!!!
