Visual art: Tech-Know-Logic

Tues., Aug. 11
Published 08.03.09

Remember when art was just a nice painting in a nice frame hanging on the wall of a nice little gallery? Times have changed and so has art. The proof presents itself at the Seen Gallery with TECH-KNOW-LOGIC: THREE ARTISTS/THREE TECHNOLOGIES. The title is pretty self-explanatory: The three artists are Travis Smith, Jonathan Fisher and Chris May, and the three technologies include traditional painting, printmaking and photography. Though the artists come from different aesthetic backgrounds, the nature of their approaches is similar, so works stay unique but strangely interwoven through eccentric uses of colors and dynamic perspectives on culture and society. Through Sept. 2. Free. Tues.-Thurs., Sun., 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; Fri.-Sat., 11 a.m.-8 p.m. 415 Church St., Decatur. 404-377-0733. www.theseengallery.com.
