GOAAAAAL: A partnership between Atlanta United and Old Fourth Distillery is a total score for ATL.

After nearly ten years, Chef Guy Wong is shuttering Miso Izakaya (619 Edgewood Ave.) on July 28, citing leasing agreement terms. The place was packed last night as adoring fans sipped Unsung Heroes and dug into shoyu tomago with nostalgia. Wong’s other restaurants, Ton Ton in Ponce City Market and Le Fat in Westside, are still going strong.

On Wed., July 11 Old Fourth Distillery announced a multi year partnership with Atlanta United. At an elaborate unveiling, Atlanta United Gin 2018 season bottle was revealed. The flashy bottles match the soccer team’s red stripes and contain O4D’s Southern dry gin made with locally sourced botanicals, starting with juniper berries from Oakland Cemetery. Snatch the commemorative bottle while you can. Local retailers will have them by the end of the month.

A pancake paradise is coming to Ponce City Market, and it’s called Pancake Social. The team behind the concept is illustrious, including Anne Quatrano (Bacchanalia, Star Provisions), Tony Riffel (Octane Coffee), Steven Chan (Tin Drum), and Dan Jacobson (Steel Wave Ventures, Chick-fil-A). Breakfast begins this winter.

Restaurant Holmes opened in Alpharetta’s City Center this week. The restaurant is located inside a historic home that was built in 1915. Executive Chef Taylor Neary (Marcel, St. Cecilia) focuses the menu on shareable small plates for dinner and a creative bar program, with lunch service coming in the next few months.

Charcoal rice, mole sauce, and grasshopper salt are just a few of the menu items to look forward to when Casi Cielo (6125 Roswell Road) opens. The team behind La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant will open the Oaxacan restaurant in Sandy Springs’ Modera development in early August. Look for more than 50 types of mezcals to pair with Executive Chef Juan Ruiz’s menu.

It’s Friday the G13th at SweetWater Brewing Co.! Celebrate the latest 420 strain release, G13 IPA, which has terpenes and proprietary hemp flavor that mimics cannabis aromas. The party begins at 4:20 p.m. in the Taproom with live music, and food by Nedza’s Waffles and Brain Food Hawt Cheese.
