Rakim, City Winery — After a month of tricks, treats, and ghoulish activities, there’s no better palette cleanser than seeing the God MC Rakim in the flesh. The highly revered rapper known for being one half of the ever-influential hip-hop duo Eric B. & Rakim may have made a name for himself back in the Golden Age of rap, but he has surprisingly been rather active throughout the 2020s. Back in 2024, Rakim unleashed his long-awaited fourth studio album, “G.O.D.'s Network: Reb7rth,” and just last month, he joined forces with Tha Dogg Pound icon Kurupt and Wu-Tang legend Masta Kila to honor the late Wu-Tang visionary Oliver “Power” Grant with an epic collaborative album titled “The God Body LP.” When Rakim pulls up to City Winery at the end of the month, he’ll be rocking the mic solo dolo, but his legacy is more than enough to make a hip-hop enthusiast cop those tickets. If you’re interested in attending the show, grab your tickets quick. Both of his Friday shows have already sold out. — joshua robinson
