Christone "Kingfish" Ingram - The Hard Road Tour at Variety Playhouse

CRITIC’S PICK
Sun., Nov. 15

Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Variety Playhouse — This young (just 27), highly touted (already a GRAMMY® winner along with having received many Blues Music Awards) contemporary blues rocker with only three studio albums to his name is everywhere; playing at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, jamming with legends many years his senior, paying tribute to BB King on a recent 100 year birthday set of covers, and generally bringing much needed youthful vitality to the genre. He has a compelling voice, but once he lays into a solo, it’s clear how talented he is. He’s still working Hard Road (2025), one of that year’s finest blues/roots offerings. — Hal Horowitz
